ONI
“L’imaginaire est ce qui tend à devenir réel.” André Breton
In the future of living spaces, Studio85 imagined a new ‘connected furniture’, designed to interact with users and stimulate the human mind. With Oni, technology and design push the boundaries of our physical world, enabling new connections between reality and imaginary.
Oni is a connected cabinet; it can detect motion and represent colourful images that stimulate the user’s psyche. Colour perception influences our mindset, depending on cultural background and personal experiences. Generally, warm colours, such as yellow, orange and red, convey positive and stimulating sensations, whilst also representing impetuousness and decision. On the contrary, cold colours, such as green and blue, instill confidence and comfort.
Also, Oni’s can propose various outfits depending on the occasion and destination, thanks to a database of the users’ wardrobe. Its software analyses users’ data and learns from their behaviour, thus becoming ever more accurate. Through its touchscreen door, users can browse information as per need and connect with an assistant for more suggestions.
