'Mermaids' Platter has become a remarkable addition to the 'Mermaid' collection by GUNIA Project. It serves as a visual essay, beautifully capturing the essence of summer through ceramics.
Drawing inspiration from the artistic materials of the 17th-19th centuries and their medieval graphics' visual quality, the 'Mermaids' Platter is a true testament to the timeless beauty of these eras.
The enchanting images of mermaids on this platter are inspired by the 1695 intaglio masterpiece 'The Joy of the Dnipro Waters' by the talented Leontii Tarasevych, as well as the intricate wooden beam crafted by the skilled hands of Danylo Ekoliuk in 1836. These historical references infuse the platter with a sense of depth and authenticity.
The geometric patterns adorning the platter draw inspiration from the decorative visual rhythm in the Khan Palace of Bakhchysaray, creating a harmonious blend of historical influences.
