Martin Lucchini inspired by the character of Jane from the film Paris, Texas -winner of the Palme d'Or as best film at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival- wanted to highlight the hollow, melancholy aspect of a character who has had complex love and family vicissitudes, in which the artist mirrors himself and understands her sorrows. The artist saw not only subjective but also objective potential for a representation that could best enhance his technique with the threads, and the ability it has to highlight the feelings of sadness, restlessness and bewilderment that connote Jane's character.
