We live in a dangerous age. Man masters nature before he has learned to master himself.
Albert Schweitzer
The artwork „Golden Land“ is a part of the working scholarship project NEUSTART KULTUR, cultural foundation of the state of Germany with the title: „Mythos Atlantis - the message for today“ .
The controversial story of Atlantis, which perished around 9600 BC as a result of a natural event within „a single day and an
ill-fated night“, was described by the Greek philosopher Plato in his Myths of Plato. The fragility of a highly developed culture
that can be completely destroyed by a natural event is currently an important and touching topic in relation to climate change
and a sign for generations to be more mindful of the environment.
The goal of my work grant was to promote a more mindful approach to the environment and Mother Nature. To this end, I
conceived three series of images that build on each other.
The first series, titled „Golden Age,“ represents the prosperity, opulence and wealth of Atlantis. The works in this series are
golden, filigree mandalas with three-dimensional effects. The artwork „Golden Land“ also belongs to this series.
