...the power that
binds together periods, past and present, yesterday and today
a link that
unites different layers of society, generations
a totem that
connects people with ties of kinship and close friendship...
We are initiators and creators of the creative
project "Bread portraits".
The project was born with the aim of developing the
objects according to the principles of of the cultural sustainability.
"Bread
trajectory - sustainability in the context of nurturing traditions".
Research solution → the security of the historical legacy, which will help
today to reveal the relationships and experiences whose value is calculated for
millennia. This is the union of tradition and a new form.
In
creative expression, the research aspect is important, the combination of
research methods in order to select the laboratory development of visual
expression.
The
senses used (tactile, taste and smell) and their application methods are
revealed for historical experience.
Preservation of the identity is a great challenge in
this pragmatic age, which is affected by globalization. The cultural
sustainability means creation of conditions for a free dialogue of different
cultures. In this case, the value is that “...one culture can tell something
that the other culture cannot tell, if we do not hear some culture, the sound
of the global culture will not be complete...”
Artistic
research aims to convey the concept of the value of tradition, the need for
reversibility. The path of bread in time is important to us, the meaning of
bread in the cultures of nations, as well as in Lithuanian customs, as a power
that connects different periods, past and present, yesterday and today, as a
link that unites different layers of society, generations, as a totem that
connects people with ties of kinship and close friendship.
The goal of the idea is the visual interpretation
of artistic research, through self-awareness and self-development. Experiment –
overcoming traditions through the selection of non-traditional materials, the
change of mark, shape and structure over time.
