This painting also belongs to The Oppression series and is a critique against harmful traditions.
To make it I sewed smocks on a metal mesh.
Under the Spanish military fascist regime the Smock stitch (also called honeycomb) is a typical embroidery of the clothes worn by the "good" children of the elite and the Francoist bourgeoisie.
In this painting I tore the rigid mesh and all the wrinkles in order to loosen the oppression. The oppression of obsolete morals that are only an obstacle to the development and freedom of the individual. I release the mentality anchored in the past to allow it to evolve according to the times.
