What does cyborg mean now? It is a biological organism with mechanical or electronic components. A kind of hybrid of a machine and a person. The concept of a human machine has been mentioned in ancient Greek mythology. This is the story of Talos, the bronze knight given by Zeus to Europe to protect the island of Crete. This "copper giant" covered the entire island three times a day. He did not allow foreigners to enter the island, throwing stones at them, and if they did stick to the shore, he would heat himself in fire and kill them in his arms. Scary story?
What if we go a little differently? Create an enveloping symbiosis: man + machine + nature. Maybe it's worth taking the best from nature, and not just what a person invented. Nature is rational and a great inventor. What kind of organism will you get then?
The concept of Cyborg of nature was also a consequence of the read works of George Martin. There is a wonderful series of Tuf's voyaging stories. In addition to the original humor, it also talks about the capabilities of the machines of the future.
And one more very powerful book by Martin - "Wind heaven". After reading it, I walked for a long time under the impression. The book consists of three novels, each of which contains strong experiences and non-standard situations. This is one of my favorite pieces by George Martin.
So there appeared Cyborg of nature in my mind and then in reality.
