The crows both
reflect the first peoples The crow
(Waan) the totem of the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation encompassing
Melbourne C.B.D and the city people
in all there diversity. Each reflected by different bag they carry the business
man the socialite the shopper or the tourist the back packer the homeless with
all there possessions in one large satchel, reflecting the diversity of people
on its streets slowly but surely returning with optimism after this long period
of closure. Similarly it can also reflect the time just passes as or absence
from the city streets left the birdlife free to roam as the cheeky comical
crows reflect Melbourne as a vibrant hub of arts, food, fashion shopping and a
destination. The work created through remnants of consumption and trade- and
the flickering effect of multiple shards of colour and tone mimicking the
vibrancy and movement of the city as it returns to life.
