The second object in this collection (Feeling Jewellery – Geborgenheit) is a bracelet that clings to the palm of the hand and openly clasps the back of the hand. This somewhat unusual piece of jewellery goes a step further than the subtle rings. It grips onto a very flexible crumple zone of the body. Not only the fingers move but the hand itself allows for deformation in all axes. The pressure and the slight restriction when wearing the bracelet make it a very conscious wearing decision. On special occasions, the decision to wear the bracelet should be well-considered, but the conscious decision to wear the bracelet and to feel its slight resistance and pressure make it all the more tactile. The bracelet itself plays with flexibility and crumple zones, as it consists of several stiff and elastic parts. Three pieces of silver plate are joined by silver rivets that allow for some flexibility. The three pieces of silver plate are further conjoined by a soft and elastic plastic piece that points to the inside of the palm of the hand. When worn, the points of contact on the back of the hand are reminiscent of the touch of another hand. The pressure and resistance experienced when wearing the bracelet is reminiscent of the firm hold of another person. The feeling of security and ultimately the feeling of »Geborgenheit« of another person holding on to your hand is resembled in this piece of jewellery.
