TimeBank The Game Narrative
Humans in the current world are too concerned with money. Most of them are detached from nature and autopilot their lives to meaningless pursuits of stuffs, fames, power, glories fuelled by the greed machine. Time Lord splits the world into Virtual and Real to measure the performance of the planet as a survival machine running out of energies and time. 100 players will be chosen to fix the real world by the right mix of time and verb.
Time Keeper cast a spell to transform the True World into a Time Bank, and offer promotion plans to attract people to become Time Bankers to test their ecological intelligence, survival instincts and evolutionary priorities. If they are given time in challenging scenarios, would they do the right thing? Would they make the best decision for the survival of humanity or dictated by the selfish gene’s choices? Would they escape extinction by being adaptive, compatible and create favourable conditions with/for other species?
Time Bank X-World is an entity of 17 unsustainable (SDG value) zones that doesn’t like human – if we are humbled to start again as a cell, what kind of choices would we make?
About TimeBank the Game
TimeBank the Game is a 6-week alternative reality experiment designed to engage agencies in both the virtual and the real world. To qualify, potential players are required to open an account to complete a 7-day carbon reduction challenge. The most committed ‘carbon dieters’ will be officially invited to a humbling ritual, and be given access to an online world.
Within this world, each player will be reborn as a cell without any human features; and their fates will be dependent upon their commitment to generate ecological values through Time Coins which will ensure their survival. When players invest time to participate in environmental actions, organized by environmental NGOs in the real world, they will be rewarded Time Coins in the virtual world, so they can purchase VERBS to progress to the next level.
For instance, players need to race against time to capture leftover food before it is discarded, clean up beaches, learn how to repurpose fallen trees into furniture; and actively switching to energy saving light bulbs; thus culminating in the players success in the online world as a result of the positive impact they are making in the real one.
During the Game, players will meet in different scenarios, learn from each other, act and create together. Time Bank the Game will help to map the eco-values generated by 100 players and convert them into a Kindness Block Chain for our planet.
The online game will last for 4 weeks, the top ten players who earn the highest number of Time Coins will be given an opportunity to form their own team with friends, using the remaining 2 weeks in reality to develop new actions and collaborations that could generate new eco-values. They will be able to utilize our headquarters to discuss how their ideas could be incorporated into the Time Coin system with players and the wider public.
We will conclude the game by having all players and the public vote for 3 winners who would be our Time Heroes. Each Time Hero will be awarded HKD10,000 to kick start their climate actions, to encourage more people to invest their time and work together for a sustainable future.

From 1) a Normal bank space, which is a solid, sharp and direct in time & space, 2) travelling to an infinite loop - virtual reality which act as a transit & change from reality to virtual, finally to a 3) participatory democracy district, fulling empowerment, consolidating mindsets & actions
