Xuetong (Zoey) Zhao is a storyteller, a digital media artist and animator with an MA degree from the London- based art school Central Saint Martins. She is currently a faculty member of the department of Digital
Media Art at Nanjing Tech University. Zhao’s works and studies focus on the fields of digital media
motion graphics, arts in virtual reality, animated documentaries, art therapy, etc. Her animated works
have been selected and screened in a number of international video festivals. In addition, she was
responsible for the planning of multiple digital media art exhibitions, and her paintings were exhibited
in various galleries. Zhao’s works are a mixture of the free form of expressionism and vividness of the
traditional ink wash paintings, as well as virtual reality and digital art, for the purpose of presenting the
features of the human spiritual world with a pursuit of narrative form using a subconsciously
metaverbal method.
