Yanine Zatarain Ramirez was born on June 26th, 1988 in Navojoa, Sonora, México.
She is an architecture student and graduated in graphic design at Guadalajara University. Her work goes from design, illustration, collages, to animation and music.
She has been surrounded by medical practice all her life, as doctors, her dad and sister brought medical books to home, where she started to study human anatomy, and feel attracted by the abstract and surreal forms of the insides of the human body.
She won the participation in the Latin American Contemporary Fine Art Competition by Agora Gallery in New York in December of 2018 with her work: Abstract Comics, which experiments with the graphic space. Every artwork is an exercise that uses traditional visual codes from comic books to create a new lecture’s rhythm, driving the eye for paths based on the golden section, geometry, and perspective.
She also explores the abstraction of the written language mixing characters from different cultures. In this works, she has focused her passion for Asian Culture and specially on Manga artists who have influenced her.
