Wu Wai Chung is an artist, architect and designer with architecture background, whose works are in different medias and exhibit in Hong Kong and internationally. She studied architecture in Hong Kong and London, and is a chartered architect in Hong Kong. Recently she won the “40 under 40 awards” in Asia’Pacific Area of Art Category hosted by Perspective Magazine.
Her award-winning paintings, sculptures and public arts in Hong Kong including: “The Energy Flow”, a winning proposal in a competition organised by the Hong Kong Government as part of the City Dress Up campaign and display in EMSD Headquarter; “Double Happiness Point” award winning public artwork in a competition organised by the Hong Kong Government and displayed in Sha Tin Town Hall. Selected architect for the Biennale of Architecture in Venice for Hong Kong Pavilion , 2018
Internationally, her projects are as follows: Selected artist in Moscow Urban Summer Pavilion, Russia, 2019; Selected artist in Festival des Jardins in Cote D’azur, France 2019; Invited artist for the upcoming Tbilisi Art Fair in Georgia, 2019; “No More Message”, is an award winning sculpture exhibited in Palazzo Ducale in Lucca Biennale, Italy and received the Outdoor Artist Award 2018; Selected artist to exhibit her garden artwork in Moscow Urban Flower Jam Show 2018, Russia; Recipient of the IAI Best Design Award 2018 organised by Asia Pacific Designer Federation in Shanghai;Selected artist in Ghana land art competition organised by NKA, Ghana, Africa 2017;
Wu Wai Chung is also the founder of SOTI Design Studio, a multi-disciplinary practice that focuses on innovative projects and works on projects internationally.
