Gosia Wojas is an artist working within a practice-led interdisciplinary research that considers notions of materiality, political subjectivity and modes of being. Her work mediates on forms, materials and gestures in play with strategies of mimesis, proximity and performativity.
Her writing has been published in: MATTER - Journal of New Materialist Research,Material-i-ty, and Flat Journal. Shehas participated in research conferences at the Institute of Philosophy, at KU Leuven in Belgium; the Research Institute Facta Ficta, at the Department of Comparative Studies of Civilization at the Jagiellonian University and the Institute of Linguistics and Literary Studies at Siedlce University, Poland; and the World Ethical Data Forum, among others.
Between the years of 2011-2021 Wojas organized talks, screenings and workshops working within conceptually-baseed social practice as The Absent Museum and Projekt Papier, as well as independently and collaboratively, at venues in Los Angeles, CA, Berlin, Germany and Gdańsk, Poland.
Wojas holds an MFA in Art with a Critical Theory emphasis from University of California, Irvine and a BFA in Fine Art from California Institute of the Arts.
