María Vírseda (1985) was born in Segovia, a Spanish city protected from UNESCO.
She studies at "Casa de los Picos Institute of Arts" continuing with her degree of Fine Arts at Universidad Complutense de Madrid where she deepens the contemporary and traditional skills of tecnical sculpture. After this, she decided to move in Italy to continue her reaserch outside the academic profile, maturating her particolary creativity.
There continues to participate in several exhibitions in the hole Italian territory.
"Art is born from the nostalgia for something we desire and are unable to catch with our hands. The world belongs to those who let themselves be touched by simplicity.
I am currently engaged in the research of an human looks of Beauty and a human looks for the woman of our time, from the expression of the deepest human that characterize it and markes people, changing the course of history.
My sculptures represent at the same time strong and fragile women, sometimes inspired by real characters, who aesthetically represent their essence, common to each other, which allows incredible things for what they believe in, want and feel ...
For this purpose I use all the materials I have available, precious metals or elements of nature, sometimes reinvented objects that can introduce moderately figurative expressiveness, always from technical traditional skills and based on the most emblematic figures of art, at times apparently in contradiction, but with the same line of research"
