I started taking photographs with a Kodak Brownie 'E' at the age of nine. When I was eleven years old I compiled my first slide show.
The ability to tell a story, not only with words but also with pictures, fascinated me from a young age.
Following my graduation from the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (Delft University of Technology) I specialised in Technical Communication: the design of 'user manuals' — once again: storytelling by means of words and pictures. At the same time pictograms began to fascinate me more and more: symbols as visual instructions. This led to my first short movie and PhotoTableau ‘Forbidden for Dogs’.
