Art should be in the midst of the world. Being sharp on social processes, we investigate how art projects can influence the quality of life and how our installations affect a hostile environment. Looking with strange eyes makes an artwork arise from human differences. Different views make art a catalyst for collective enthusiasm to experience the world we live in.
These dynamics in mind, we aim at the quality of diversity in contact. Our collaboration projects experience this by letting art evoke in between partners who join in. Commitment is an essential condition to be developed.
Setting up such starts an adventure in process and outcome that each individual member, working alone, never would have experienced. Also in this process everyone’s first step starts with making art in a familiar way. When every one involved is open to let all things happen, each answer to this first movement will induce sideways and starts new sense-experiences. This will shape one's course and opens up new perspectives in collaboration. Processes like this are able to cope with upcoming paradoxes, taboos or contradictions, until then considered to be self-evident.
Interactive conversations we set up, give way to reflect on that impact and puts art in the beautiful position of reflecting and combining all sorts of individual interpretations. It doesn’t matter who you are: sex, class, race, worker or civil servant, working or playing, fighting or dancing, everyone can experience individual enthusiasm in looking at that commonly shared artwork and its emerging process, considering life and your way of working.
After realizing, in seminars and workshops we celebrate and exchange the process and outcome in a joyful and transparent way. Both audiences and artists become aware of the aspects concerning themselves, getting able to translate them into in their daily context.
All our artworks connect our approach in different expressions of the same theme: contact makes an artwork worth reflecting on.
After closing down a project we always set up a short ceremony, in which we bury an artificial seed, made of the materials we used in that project. A celebration for letting art grow, where ever we go in the world.
Now, in Saigon Van Company storage, HCMC, some other works that are not finished yet, are waiting for an opportunity to get realized. Once done, we are able to fill an exhibition of work#art artworks, that were developed and realized in two years time in Việt Nam.
The artworks we send in now for Arte Laguna Prize 19, are part of that collection of work#art artworks.
