Through the creation of ceramic sculptures, photography and film, I give form to happiness. When you look at my work, you experience small moments of happiness.
My work arises spontaneously because I create situations in which something unexpectedly beautiful can happen. In these moments, I give form to new images. If I can think of something, I want to realize it.
While experimenting, I get to work with an undefined idea. During the research phase, forms and images arise spontaneously, which in turn are sources for follow-up research. This process repeats itself until there is a creation that makes me happy. I start a project full of energy, 'hands on' and I love the direct contact with the material I work with: 'hands on'. I use different materials and techniques for that. My work is a meeting between art and design.
In the field of design, my roots are in ceramics. During my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk Belgium (Ceramic Design and Project Atelier Mixed Media) I developed into an all-round visual artist.
I work autonomously, on commission or together with other visual artists, craftsmen and technical specialists.
