Born in Locarno in 1956, Renato Tagli displayed a passion for art as a young boy. That passion would ultimately lead him to begin studying at the CSIA in Lugano.
After a number of experiences abroad, Mr. Tagli and companion Sabina Oberholzer founded the Oberholzer – Tagli studio of graphic design in Cevio in 1983.
In addition to his work as a graphic designer, Mr. Tagli has a profound interest in art and Nature, and converts wooded areas and gardens into art installations
and plant sculptures.
An accomplished landscape artist, Renato Tagli has channeled his passion
into a splendid form of Land Art over the years.
His creative experience is in the field of conceptual art that acts upon the terrain directly, with natural operations which are always in harmony with the setting.
He creates with an eye constantly on the future, since time - usually the enemy
in traditional art - plays a positive role in his works, and its effect is foreseen
from the very beginning of the artistic project.
Mr. renato Tagli also enjoys creating plays of light by cutting and sewing scraps
of colored fabrics.
Through this passion he seeks harmony between color and shape.
Color is part of his life.
Working through the sewing machine transports him into a meditative state.
In the present moment, the work arises spontaneously, often carrying
unexpected results.
His work tools are:
the camera that he always has with him and teaches him to refine the sense of observation and the scissors with which he shapes the vegetation into shapes
surreal and surprising.
Over the years, Mr. Tagli has had the opportunity to show his works at exhibits
and in publications, and has completed many projects for both public and private organizations.
Today as in the past, his works receive important prizes and awards
on the international level.
