As a self-taught artist, raised in Brielle, I am deeply inspired by the styles of Gerhard Richter and Mark Rothko.

My art can have narrative, descriptive, symbolic, spiritual and/or philosophical content. My main sources of inspiration are nature, music, sience and I prefer to go to the sea, it gives me a feeling of coming home and strength. When I start a new painting, I feel an inner urge and I go deep into my emotions. Coincidence and urgency also play an important role.

The search for balance between my feelings and expressing them is what guides me as a painter undefined.

When it comes to exploring technique and texture I am an adventurer. I experiment for as long as it takes with pigment, the canvas and the structure until I find it right. I call it transparent working, artistic freedom is paramount. I look through the window of my heart and paint my soul stirrings in the color tones of my emotion.
