Naomi is a french-macanese artist who was born in Macao (Macao). Guided by her architect father, Naomi started drawing since 7 years old. After graduated from Sciences Po Paris and the Sorbonne University, she developed her projects in the workshops of Mélissa Pinon, Ecole des Beaux Arts Paris and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
She conceives the creation of an artwork as that of constructing a castle. Colours are the cement which binds the bricks together. The objects in her paintings – a tree, a wall, a body, etc., furnish the antechamber where visitors from the outside meet and see whatever she presents to them. Unlike in the room where the mind is naked, chaotic and intimate, in the antechamber, emotions are chosen, defined by her and redefined by the visitors.
Naomi is intrigued by the complexity of human feelings. They do not follow any rules, do not possess any form, but powerfully shape the behaviour and the perception of the world of everyone. For her, engaging in the research around human feelings is like walking on an endless road. She invites the spectators to take this journey with her, to lose themselves in the labyrinth of an enchanted garden. There is no clear passage to approach the castle, or to leave the garden.
