Fernando Rodríguez Guarín is a colombian proffesional Master in art with a concentration in plastic arts from the Los Andes University, in the city of Bogotá, Colombia, where he presented his own technique of painting on canvas called “Spaghettificationism” as his thesis.
While at the University he made his first minimalist painting with his own technique of 45 extruded tubes of Winton white oil directly on canvas, when he was in third semester in the year 2001. After that he was one of the guests to exhibit his paintings in the exhibition of the 60 years of the faculties of Art and Design of the University of Los Andes.
Then he made paintings with toothpastes with which he participated in the first youth painting salon at Club El Nogal. After that he began to use a pastry bag with different noozles to achieve various textures and compositions to make his paintings, going through geometric compositions in his thesis, then abstract and then reaching the
figurative with his series of “Van Goghs” made with his own technique, remaining among the 10 chosen to exhibit one of his works in the exhibition “Vincent Van Gogh, the genius of color” in Bogotá.
Finally, he came to the great series of water paintings with which he initially won a honorable mention at the Diversity National Art Salon and a few years later won the first place in this same salon winning over mor than 400 artists.
Fernando was one of the winners of the international call for Latin American Art in Tokyo and exhibited a Water painting in Japan together with other winners in the Art Trace Gallery. In 2020 he was one of the winners of the ARCOT call and will exhibit another winning painting in Tokyo.
