The second child in a migrant Italian family, he grew up in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. With a European Baccalaureat in his hands he went on to acquire a university scientific degree at the University of Bologna, in Bologna, Italy. He further developed his scientific education and training at the Universities of Parma, Italy and Stanford, CA, U.S.A., before starting a career in science. In parallel, he always cultivated an immense interest in art, and practiced drawing and watercolours in his spare time. Recently he became interested in digital painting. In his works, he tries to convey political or aesthetic messages that are not immediately perceived but ask for a decision from the viewer to go and look for them, as one does with bad or exhilarating old memories.
