Born in Harbin in 1974. Since 1998, he has graduated from Dept. of Chinese Painting, the Art School of Harbin Normal University, and Dept. of Painting , the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University. Currently he is living and working in Shanghai.

Pang Hailong's work focuses on the reality of existence. The topic of creation that he refers to often have a spiraling relationship of “direct conflicts” and “indirect metaphors” with the various problems that accompany the urbanization of society. He is good at intervening the viewers’ perception through the interpretation of the material medium, which provides viewers with a state in which to do by doing nothing, to perceive what can be “perceived”, and to ignore what will be “ignored”.
