Karine Osipova is an artist based in
Netherlands.
She was born in 1965 in a former Soviet republic where
she graduated from the Art College in 1985. In 2023 she graduated The Online
Art Communication School by Institute of the Mediterranean Culture, Greece.
Throughout her life she lived in a various countries
with Krakow being a last place where she lived for about 20 years before she
moved to the Netherlands in 2014.
In the pursuit of own painting style - for most of her
adult life – she was experimenting with various paintings’ techniques and
methods. Growing experience and curiosity have eventually led Karine to
discover Suminagashi, an ancient Japanese marbling technique, which she further
developed and adopted to the modern world. She created large canvases with
images of blooming gardens - a visual metaphor, where every flower, every fruit
contain meaning and have their own symbolism. The inspiration to this – while
living in the Netherlands - came from the art and aesthetics of the old Flemish
masters.
What also helped Karine to determine her own style was
her hobby – antiques. Deep knowledge of ancient history and passion for art
allowed her to grow a personal collection of antiques over many years and built
a deep expertise in this area.
