ALLEXANDRA (Alexandra Osipova)
8 solo and more than 30 group exhibitions of Fine Art and Scenography in Russia and abroad (France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Latvia, the Czech Republic).
Member of Moscow Artists’ Union.
Works featured in private collections in Belgium, France, Latvia, Ukraine and Russia.
Lives and works in Moscow.
2015-2016 Free Workshops, School of Modern Art, MMOMA.
2012 Internship in the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris.
2003-2008 Russian Academy of Theatre Arts – GITIS, set design.
I started
with oil painting, and have now shifted to using mixed media. I love to
experiment: the joy and energy of working with them are critical to everything
I do. An essential component of my visual art is the creation of different
levels of meaning: emotional, figurative, metaphorical, symbolic, and
philosophical, among others. I appreciate when text can add its own value to a
work, instead of merely explaining the visual component.
For the
last several years, I tried various combinations of painting, video,
statistical data, readymade objects, live substances, recycling art,
Paintings_Dresses, VR and performative sand art at the seashore.
My themes
multiply and unfold in different ways. I search for connections to the past,
the present and the future; mythology, human feelings, discoveries and new
journeys, new worlds and planets, and the beauty of nature revealing in
details.
