Brief Biography of the artist
OLOJEDE Ifeoluwapo Babalola hails from Eruwa, Oyo state. He is an artist and moreso an explorer of many mediums in art. He started his art career from his primary school and developed his talent in his secondary school when he served as the school cartoonist in the school magazine. In 2005, he proceeded to The Polytechnic Ibadan, Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus, Eruwa (now Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa) and graduated in 2008 as the Overall Best student of Art and Design Department where he holds a National Diploma in General Art.
To fulfill his dreams and passion for art, he took a bold step to Obafemi Awolowo University in 2009 for his first Degree – Bachelor of arts and graduated in 2012. He had participated in many National art competitions such as LIMCAF (Life in my City Art Festival), Sterling Bank Recyclart Competition, Union Bank Centenary art Challenge and many more. He won the second prize in the National Art Competition organized by Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in 2011 and many other awards has been credited to him in his art career.
He obtained his Master degree certificate from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Nigeria where he started with his explorative ideas of using bark of trees as a medium of expression in art; an advanced practice from the idea gotten from the Australian aboriginal paintings. He is now practicing as a full time studio artist in Nigeria.
