Experimentation and open-mindedness towards modern techniques led Marlies Odehnal to Digital Art.
For more than 15 years she has been using the virtual brush to create digital images. She creates art with pixels. Just as her predecessors used the tools of their time, she uses the tools of her time. Meanwhile digital art became her favorite artistic expression.
Her art does not pretend documenting reality. Her art brings together many contemporary art movements, some of her works are poppy, other works are surrealistic or minimalistic.
Although she has a classic art education, who learned by mastering water colors, charcoal, oils and acrylic. Using today’s technology allows her to create art that is more in touch with today’s life.
The main focus of her themes range from nature, urban life performances in virtual galleries.
So her art surprising the viewer with images of powerful energy and unusual composition. Like the old masters her work is carefully planned and executed with intent and purpose. Her work reflects the complex and messy world we live in.
