LIVES AND WORKS
He is a self-taught Brazilian visual poet, working on photography, painting, installation, and sculpture as a conceptual artistic expression. He started through photography as a hobby after winning the photography contest, but only after the second maternity in 2018, he saw art as a profession. He seeks in photography ways to incorporate personal and social contexts inserted in contemporary photography motivated by his readings and affinities with the disciplines of philosophy, anthropology and sociology, references of his academic training in nursing. He expanded photography and new processes and techniques, such as the “chiaroscuro between light and shadows by Caravaggio” to tension his narrative of the Creatus project, about the governability of bodies as a tool for social control, and the creation of the feminine in the world centered on the phallus, currently exhibited at the Pinacoteca UFPB Online Art Gallery, in Paraíba.
Finalist of the Luminious eye Gallery public contest with the theme “Inwards” focusing on the pandemic with the project “Transpor” in Athens in Greece 2020/2021. Currently, his research investigates the body and physical and emotional repression and its impacts. In parallel, he develops the “Karbono” experiment, as a point of conflict between organic and matter, carbon as the fundamental engine of life, in a solo exhibition at Galeria Toca in Recife Pernambuco where he lives.
His readings and concerns motivated his experimental projects, appropriating political and social issues. Independent researcher, his works are represented by the Brazilian Art Gallery Meia Sete.
