SOFIA NERI
Sofia Neri is a versatile and multifaceted artist, open to the exchange of knowledge and understanding between people.
Her humanity is rooted in her mother, a dancer and pedagogue who was a pupil of the famous Rosalia Chladek, and in her father, a psychologist and scholar.
She is a pianist, dancer and composer, in the past she also studied the violin and has a great passion and propensity for photography.
She has completed classical studies and a deep course of study in the branch of philosophy. Her life is a continuous search for the expression and sharing of the soul and self.
He performs in numerous concerts and shows where his pianism takes on its own light with a passion for the velvety touch that manages to move from the percussive tones typical of the piano to sophisticated sounds where the piano strings seem to be driven by the delicacy of a bow.
Her repertoire ranges from romantic passion to classical iconicity, following the music of the 20th century, the music of female composers and trends in the compositions of living artists.
Sofia is a composer herself, she loves extreme harmonic research, she is capable of finding poignant and melancholic themes, her music is always rich in content and references to philosophical logic and thought. She studied for a long time with Maestro Baboni Schilingi.
As a dancer, she began practising at the age of four, under the guidance of Silvana Bazzi who grew up in Rosalia Chladek's school.
This path fitted her perfectly into the school's philosophy, which considers dance as a physical and spiritual score of music.
She has performed in numerous prestigious venues such as Villa Panza in Varese, Palazzo Grassi in Venice, Teatro Filodrammatici in Mì€lano, Conservatorio di Lugano.
Her passion for photography stems from an instinct to look at the world, nature and art with a different, multifaceted eye.
Hence the ability to take pictures that create a mystical and philosophical effect from the observation of nature or architectural views or the movements of dancers.
He has exhibited his works in Brusino Arsizio in Switzerland and projected them in multimedia installations at his concerts.
He published the photo book Il bambino e la Danza (The Child and the Dance) in which he immortalised in a series of shots the dynamism of dance according to the method of the famous dancer Rosalia Chladek and her pupil Silvana Bazzi, founder of the movement education centre in Varese.
In her works there is always a great interweaving of different series that touch on light, non-matter, nature and dance.
She was recently selected with her work 'Iridescence' at the 70th Premio Rotonda in Livorno, receiving a residency grant from the Fondazione Laviosa and winning the prize for Under 35. Following these successes, she has already been asked by a prestigious Foundation to set up a solo exhibition to be held in Tuscany in 2024.
One of her photographs was included in the Colors and Landscape project in a trade magazine.
Together with his partner Sandro Pignataro, he created the Violin and Piano Duo PhiloSophia with which he applies these experiences and acts as an ambassador to people and companies of these new artistic and cultural approaches.
The duo distinguishes itself by researching lesser-performed programmes, compositions and composers with an approach of historical and cultural integration and enhancement.
