I am a French artist and photographer born in Lyon on 01 April 1977.
"Photography came into my life in 1993 during my 1st year of applied arts in Lyon. It was a passion that I practised in parallel with my work as an interior designer from 1999 onwards.
2018 saw a change of life, a change of direction and a revelation.I moved to Guadeloupe, FWI, for 3 years of artistic wanderings, solitude and introspection, a long inner journey.Back in mainland France in 2021, I laid the foundations for the main thrust of my work and professionalised my art.
My raw material is light, which I explore through a variety of photographic techniques, the subject being our nature - human, animal and environmental. Light reveals the soul, a subject, a place, an environment.
An exploration that takes me from wildlife photography to contemporary photography, via series of semi-abstract self-portraits.
My contemporary series 'Abrasion', presented at the show, is a quest to extract the spectrum of white light, invisible to the naked eye, and revealing the profound identity of an environment. From the gold of Venice, to the dominant purple of London, to the vibrant colours of Collioure, each place reveals its deep authenticity through its spectrum of light.A vision inspired by the Fauvist school, with a Newtonian technique based on the phenomenon of light diffraction.
My "Dark Light" series is an immersion in the tropical forest of Guadeloupe, FWI, and is a work on the luminosity cursor. A series of monochrome plants, where light and shadow create matter.A sensibility inspired by the artist Pierre Soulages, where I explore the infinite richness of luminosity, creating surfaces through the reflection of light.
A face, a look, a person or a place... The soul is light...".
