At the heart of my work is a conversation between tradition and modernity. Referring to the studying background fromChina (Zhe Da), US (UCI, Pratt) and UK (UAL, RCA), I have always questioned about my identity and fusion of culture. Ibelieve the best solution to preserve the traditional culture is to combine with modern philosophy. Through material, andinstallation I attempt to merge and to transform classical Chinese symbolism and techniques using Western styles andimagery. From the textile family background, I always interested into exploring the new definition of material in modernenvironment, such as tapestry, my artistic project draws on poetic analogies of Chinese cultural history and myth thathelp to narrate the work. My work has been exhibited with Europe and China institutions, including DingyuanInternational Art Center, Bund 22, United Museum, Shanghai Himalaya Museum, Travers Smith, Barbican Center,Chelsea Arts Club, Arts Night, Florence Biennale, GAA Foundation, etc. Two monographs of my works have beenpublished by the China Academy of Arts.
