Read MoreMy name is Matteo Melotto. I am an emerging Italian artist, designer, and performer with a background in Fashion Design from IAAD in Turin. In 2019, I started my art journey as a painter with a solo show titled “Silence Over The Abyss” at the non-artistic space of Studio BTT. Since then, I have developed and presented numerous performances, video art works and installations within the university setting of IAAD in Turin. Some examples include “Stereolith” in 2020, “Orthotic” in 2021, and “Elettrogenesis” and “Orpheus Eyes” in 2022. In 2023, I presented “IANUA,” a project of performance and video art, at Kilroy Was Here, featured on Hong Kong art magazine XinCi (available in 45+ countries), and “CYBERIA” at Underline_Avampo7ti_Culturali Festival in Turin. Currently, I am working on “Samana,” a project conceived and realized in collaboration with Rick Owens, which will be exhibited at Comodo64 in Turin and MAD Festival in Bern, Switzerland. My works are a mix of performance, video art, fashion design, philosophical research, and technical experimentation. My main concepts revolve around neonomadism and posthumanism, evolutionary and devolutionary processes, as well as the ritualistic search for a transcendent dimension that merges technology and nature in an innovative state of being.
