Maurizio Saletti, alias Maus, was born in 1954 in Montepulciano, a town near Siena, where he still lives and work.
He is self-educated and he starts o paint after a seriousaccident which changes him deeply and makes him hink about sense of life. He understands how much life is ephemeral.
At he beginning he paints anything, realizing a delirious production of figurative works, landscapes and abstract works; his obsession was to leave as moe woks as possible to confirm his passage in earthy life.
But soon he understands that he doesn't like more painting what other painters had already done. So he starts to research for new techniques and new ideas to produce works which can distinguish himself from the sea of banality and from already seen.
Therefore he realizes a series of "experimens", as he himself loves calling them, o find his most authenticc artistic identity.
During this period an important concept comes much strong in him: painter can not be influenced by form and by matter of the support on which he realizes own works but it will be the support itself which must adhere to works like a made-to-measure dress.
In this way it is born the series called "harmony concept" where the supports take the form of images, often geomerical and three-dimensionl images.
Geometrical images give Maus a sense of order and calm, he needs them because chaos and degradation of this modern life puzzle him.
Maus has attended many artistic events, as well as collective and one-man exhibitions in Siena, Poggibonsi, Torino, Milano, Spoleto, San Gimignano, Montecarlo, Miami, Sarteano, Venezia, Innsbruk and obiously in Montepulciano, his native town.
