AEROWAVES ARTIST 2018
He is an Italian artist based in Brussel, where he founded the INSIEME IRREALI Company, supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. His interdisciplinary work lies at the intersection of visual and performing art, installation and new technologies, deeply focused on social, historical and anthropological topics. His works are presented in four continents, in very important dance festival, performing art festival, theaters, music networks, puppet-object and contemporary art platforms, such as: Festival OrienteOccidente, Seoul International Dance Festival, José Limon Dance Festival, Danse Elargie/Théâtre de la Ville, Beijing Dance Festival, National Italian Dance Platform.
Since 2015, Pietro is developing an anthropologic and aesthetic reflection about the links between reality and symbolic languages. This approach engages him to create a « imaginary of the species », a philosophical statement that should conduct our societies to face their own histories and common global issues from the larger point of view of the species.
Since 2017, he works at the Academy of Music and Theatre of Vilnius (Lithuania) where he proposes workshops and lectures about the « metaphorical body method » and « documentary theatre ».
2015 – ARANCE – avoid shooting blacks is about the issue of modern slavery in Europe. A hybrid show that blends the codes of theatre and the visual art. The project was created during the The Festival Emulation 2015 of the Théâtre de Liege;
2017, he presented the performance WRECK-List of extinct species, for the opening of the International Dance Festival OrienteOccidente. It’s a project between installation and dance on the theme of shipwreck.
2018 – MIMESIS, a dance and video show about the concept of imitation that he will present for the opening of the Festival Scripta Manent at the Théâtre de la Balsamine in Brussels.
2019 – He created ARIANE [eu]phonie, a reflection on the concept of border starting from the Greek Mythe of Labyrinth. The show is coproduced by the Théâtre Varia de Bruxelles and the Wallonie-Bruxelles Federation.
2019 – He presented HIVE – our hydrological need of cosmic lines about the relationship between violence and culture. This isan international coproduction premiered in Festival Oriente Occidente in Italy.
Today he is working of two multidisciplinary projects:
HEAT – a serious of installations, conferences and video projects crossing disciplines like thermodynamics, ecological studies, anthropology and esthetics, about the terrestrial critical zone.
BLACK DEATH / Decameron Neotenico composed by ten projects in ten different courting mixing different disciplines (film, performance, dance, fashion, bioclimatic architectura, etc..) about the limits of our species to face the global challenges.
