Maria Luz was born on January 27, 1999, in Lisbon. In 2021 she finished her bachelor’s degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, after leaving the bachelor’s of Industrial Design at ESAD.CR. Between February and June 2020, she studied at the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Arts, Slovenia, under the Erasmus programme. She currently lives and works in Lisbon, combining the visual arts with different collective projects. Her work portrays the loneliness of everyday life in a city and the pursuit of beauty in every place. Last year, she participated in many art exhibitions in Portugal and won the Young Art Prize 2022 by Millennium BCP and Carpe Diem.
She has been exhibiting her artwork regularly since 2017, collaborating with other artists on different projects.
