My name is Yüyen Rowe. I am an artist from China and study in University Fine Art college now. My creative motivation is about translate Chinese painting to modern painting form. Since the art trend of 1985, the creation of contemporary ink painting has increasingly moved towards an abstract formal language. However, the ink painting under this background is more just using ink painting as a creative material, and some oriental connotations and complexes of Chinese ink painting itself have disappeared. But I think that while the form is modernizing, the context and spirit of Chinese ink art itself should not be completely abandoned with the change of style. I try to create paintings in an abstract brush and ink language and tried to create a context with oriental connotation through the pictures, that is, the imagination and pursuit of nature with romantic characteristics in the Chinese ink painting tradition. I hope that this culture belonging to China can be understood by more people. This is my expectation and responsibility for China Culture as a local artist.
