Norma Loche was born in Rome, where she attended the
Academy of Fine Arts and graduated with honors in Painting in 2016. Always
deeply influenced and fascinated by the great masters, by aesthetics, and by
the technical virtuosity learned during her studies, she initially devoted
herself to realistic representations.
With her move to
Spain and travels to India and Latin America, a new phase of her life began.
She started exhibiting in Catalan galleries and joined the group of painters at
Port Vell, developing a new reflection on art that led her to a stylistic
shift: she abandoned canonical forms of representation to focus on an
instinctive approach, where colors become expressions intended to stir the
subconscious.
From December 2017 to January 2018, she participated in a
collective exhibition at the Abartium Gallery in Girona.
In 2018, for six months, she exhibited with the Pintores del
Port Vell in the city of Barcelona.
In 2023, she was given the opportunity to exhibit at the
Castello di Gabbiano in Mercatale Val di Pesa, Florence, from May to November
2024.
The solo exhibition, entitled "Luce"
("Light"), presents large-scale works that trace all phases of light,
from the prelude of dawn to the end of the day with the arrival of night. Norma Loche conveys an intense emotional
impact through her works, where colors play a leading role. In her art, colors
are never confined by contours; they are always on the verge of exploding and
expanding. Her aim is not to represent a specific episode or landscape but to
suggest an atmosphere, leaving free interpretation to the viewer.
While fully aware
of various artistic philosophies, Norma's intention is to distance herself from
the harshness of everyday life, allowing viewers to find refuge in the vision
of her works. Her goal is to find beauty around her and express it with vibrancy
and freshness, free from any conventions, engaging the viewer emotionally to
the point of immersing and overwhelming them with the power of color. Her
colors are pure and bright, the contrasts are strong, the lines are fine, and
the subjects are hallucinatory and dreamlike. Recurring themes and the constant
use of symbols, such as stars, are characteristic elements of her art. In her
works, she strives to instill confidence and energy, helping to overcome
adversity through the sublime power of art. She highlights every element in
reality that can become something positive for humanity.
She believes
that, unfortunately, today we have lost the ability to marvel at a starry sky
because we are no longer accustomed to looking up and seeking a connection with
the universe.
Yet, the vision
of that extraordinary carpet of lights, like the Milky Way, should absolutely
be preserved.
