Never work with children or animals, goes the old saying. But I have always laughed at those rules, starting out as a family photographer and, for the last four years, snapping enormous Angus bulls, bison and sheep just to name a few.
My photographic work now ranges from animals, botanicals, seascapes, landscapes, and lifestyle assignments for select clients to personal projects developed in nature to create my limited edition print collections.
HQ is an 1100ha farm in Hororata, about an hour west of Christchurch. It’s my husband Fraser’s family farm, a far cry from my upbringing in the Brisbane suburbs.
When I am not looking after their children – Greta, seven, and Dudley, five – I will be wandering around the farm or surrounding areas, drawn to the beauty of the colours of the landscape or by the rural animals that surround me.
The results in turn create striking, open and limited-edition prints that hang on walls everywhere from New Zealand and Australia to the UK and Europe.
I have created pieces for homes in Sweden, Estonia, France, Saudia Arabia, California, to restaurants in Minnesota as well as a brewery in Texas.
I have been lucky enough to be featured in the Haven Magazine, Your Home and Garden Magazine, The Latitude Magazine, Angus Magazine, Metropol Magazine, and recently the NZ Women's Weekly Magazine. I have also recently been on 7 Sharp, a TV programme in New Zealand.
