Sujin
Kim

Sujin Kim is a LA-based independent filmmaker, CG artist, and art educator. She received a BFA in Painting at Ewha Woman University in Korea and worked as a painting teacher for years. In 2017, she moved to the USA and received a MFA in Experimental Animation at California Institute of the Arts. She has flexible visual languages ranging from traditional painting to CG techniques.

Her films have been exhibited and screened in many film festivals around the world including Annecy International Animation Film festival, 34th International Short Film Festival Berlin, Festival international de Montréal, ANIMA MUNDI, Insomnia Animation Festival, ANIMA - Córdoba International Animation Festival, Los Angeles Film Awards, REDCAT showcase and Denver Film Festival, San Diego Underground Film Festival, etc. She received Adobe Prize in EMAP 2019: Ewha Media Art Presentation in Korea and Best Experimental Short in Global Film Festival Awards. Her current CG animated documentary has been funded by ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Educator's Forum Scholarship.
