Laura Huguet NonĂ³, born in Girona in 1986, recalls playing as a child with a pottery wheel from the Barcelona brand Forns, gifted to her grandmother, which still spins in her Ibiza studio today.
However, it wasn't until 2008, while studying architecture, that she reconnected with ceramics.
In January 2019, she began dedicating herself professionally to ceramics, taking on commissions for various architects and interior designers on the island and teaching ceramic courses.
The work she presents in this exhibition stems from the strong feelings she experienced during her recent journey into motherhood. Her need to touch clay was a desire not always possible to fulfill, and the few moments she could dedicate were for educational purposes or commissions.
Now that her son is two years old, she has gradually regained moments of pure artistic creation, where minimalism, sobriety in forms, and critical reflection on how human actions harm the earth guide her hands.
