Hu Liwei’s practice revolves around moving image. She holds a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Film, Video, New Media and Animation. Her works explore the inexorable development produced in urban history, in the enormous societal changes, and in the relationship with nature, attempting to create an intimacy with every nuances.
Liwei is a guest resident artist at Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten (2020). Her works have been shown at festivals and exhibitions in the U.S, China, Switzerland, Amsterdam, South Korea. Liwei is part of the film collective Fish in a Pot.
