Specializing in feminine ceramic sculpture in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, Julia Heine-Saabel started her art training in Vancouver at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and later obtained a Bachelor of Fine Art from Concordia University in Montreal. After she settled in Frankfurt in the year 2000, she started to produce large-scale sculptures made of glazed stoneware and exhibited her work in various galleries in Switzerland and Germany. More recently Julia's focus shifted from free standing female armor and korsetts to smaller scale ceramic wall pieces that morph the female form with animal skulls and bones.
