Heike Baltruweit's pictures seem abstract, often appear like paintings or graphics, but they always represent unchanged, concrete situations or objects, reproduce sections of reality. Not only are they not identical with the objects, they are also not as a picture what they look like, they are photographs.
The combination of media and art is another focus of Heike Baltruweit's work. The focus is on her unedited photographs, they are medially enriched with augmented reality. For the viewer, her art can thus be experienced in a new dimension. They can immerse themselves in the artist's world, in her way of seeing and her way of photographing.
Heike Baltruweit has been active as a media artist and artistic photographer since 2015, initially parallel to her work as a multi-project manager. Since March 2019, she has been working exclusively as an artist with her own exhibition space in her gallery Pure Photography in Hamburg.
She has received the Woman Art Award in Rome and in Paris for her unusual style of photography, which she filters from her natural environment and exhibits completely unedited.
Exhibitions at home and abroad: including France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and as an ARTBOX semifinalist at the Art Basel Art Week in Miami.
