ONE EYE.
I came into this world with just one eye.
Which is not to say I am a cyclops reincarnate.
My face holds two eyes; one funcions normally, and the other is constantly surprised.
There’s no cure for this, in spite of the efforts of many experts to repair my “surprising”.
Then again, I haven´t allowed it; the risk was too great, and I have always felt comfortable and contented to have another type of gaze.
I grew up imaging it.
First, by drawing. Then, with cameras. Then, by studying design and advertising, the intense trade of creating and communicating until technology made posible to mutate into a different creative species.
Objects, videos, the creation of images, are the means by which I communicate from within myself.
My way of seeing, of feeling, of letting something to happen in others.
Creating photographs I feel as if I’m writing, talking, thinking and untinking… but always feeling.
Photography allows me to explore my own emotions, and I put it at the service of others.
I can´t help but to look at it and to feel it.
And I hope that’s enough to be an artist statement.
Even though so much can never be so Little.
