Green

Jim Green is a conceptual visual artist who creates paintings using various non-traditional mediums and materials. He is best known for his virtual paintings where he mixes abstract with realistic imagery using image editing programs which brings into question the value of traditional painting versus digital-mark marking, particularly at a time when so much art is being produced using mechanical and technological processes.

Green was born in West Texas at the end of WWII. He was raised in New Mexico where his father was a business owner in the petroleum industry. His mother, a housewife, headed-up several local charities. Green’s varied life experiences includes serving in the Army Security Agency in Germany during the Cold War, studying art at the University of California, attending the University of Texas where he received his BFA, working in the home renovations industry in Chicago, and a Web Designer for a firm in NYC that provided digital solutions for transactional web and e-commerce. At present Green resides in Los Angeles where continues to produce digital art.
