Elena Aleksandrovna Goloubovitch, born in Minsk on March 14, 1975.
Big dreamer.
Since childhood, I have been interested in creativity, taking piano classes in music and independently mastering drawing and copying book illustrations. I have always dreamed of making fine art my life’s work. However, in 1993 I entered the Institute of Foreign Languages in Minsk and, after studying for 2 years, I went to the small town of Eastbourn in England, where I accomplished in 1998 College of Art & Technology.
Creativity takes a huge part of my life, and I decided to continue. Having moved to Brussels, despite not knowing the French language, I entered the Royal Academy of Painting (Academie des Beaux Arts de Bruxelles), presenting my portfolio to the admissions committee. The desire to paint helped me overcome the difficulties of learning a new language. The Academy was founded in 1711, such great artists as Vincent Van Gogh, Victor Rousseau, James Ensor, Paul Delvaux, etc. studied there, and this gave a sense of involvement in great art. I received great pleasure from each year of study. It was at the academy that I found my own style and technique. In 2003 I graduated with honors.
After graduating from the Academy, I was interested in trying myself in various areas of painting. I painted everything: from cabaret stars, and city landscapes to still lifes. I also experimented with different materials: pigment on concrete, crystals, bitumen. In my collection there is a work that I created from heated bitumen, depicting two buffalos.
In 2021, a small series of paintings and illustrations appeared in the fairy-tale genre, where the main character was Vasilisa in the pomegranate garden. As a result, the whole country of Granadia appeared, where Pomegranates became the main characters, and this country has now become a part of my life. Why grenades? Because I have always admired the mysterious garnet, its shape, color, shine and some special uniqueness. When cut, the garnet resembles the shape of a human brain. Thus, these miracle berry came to life in my paintings, creating their own unique, unlike anything else World. To date, there are 24 paintings with fascinating life stories of pomegranates.
In 2024, Granadinloo's painting was selected to participate in the Chiaciano Biennale Art 2024.
Also in 2024, I felt a special interest in animal nature and began to paint animals. I wanted to convey their true essence in every possible detail. As you paint each hair, time seems to slow down, giving you the opportunity to fully enjoy the process itself. I find this a special state of creative meditation.
Today, the field of fine arts is not yet my main profession. But, despite this, nothing and no one prevents me from continuing to immerse myself in my creative space in which I live, write, create and enjoy communicating with my paintings. They come to life under the strokes of my brush, acquiring the necessary appearance. Where only the smell of paint and the pliability of the canvas connect me with the unique and tangible reality of life itself, which is beautifully manifested in every unique moment that brings joy and always new ideas.
