Born and raised in Transylvania, Romania, I have always been surrounded by people, culture and nature, authentic / specific to the Romanian hearth, focused on well-founded principles and traditions. In a small village in Salaj, where everyone knows each other, and manual labor is available to everyone.
Since high school until the present moment, the main creative theme and my true inspiration was and still is the woman’s beauty. Every time I’m planning to create a piece I have in front of my eyes the beautiful and powerful meaning and symbolism of the feminine and the importance of women in our lives and in our society.
I started with figurative study and I moved pretty quickly at stylizing the shape with the help of different materials, emphasizing the quality of the woman’s body, through the characteristics and treatment of the processed material.
I caught the body’s artlessness in walnut wood, which like human character evolves over time, being affected by the environment. I restored it’s tenderness in the form cast in plaster, I transposed it’s grace in a stylized series of marble and I associated it’s strength, it’s depth and it’s steadfastness part with the stone.
During the recent years, the woman has resumed her figurative form and the material has become the instrument of interpretation.
