My name is David Fernández, and this is my project, Fenerui. I create sculptures in ceramic decorated with special effect glazes.
My childhood has been closely linked to the mountains, rivers, and forests of the Valle de Boí.
The flowers and their colors in spring, the greens and blues of summer, and the games in the river, hopping from stone to stone; the autumn that dyes the mountains yellow and red, or the winter that embraces everything with white snow and transparent ice. These are the colors and textures I sought to find for my pieces.
The large stones and river pebbles, the tree canopies have inspired me in creating forms.
Just as the landscape of the valley shapes itself, it has shaped my sensitivity towards beauty and life.
My work is the place where all these factors intersect, where I can show my love for the land by imitating its beauty.
My mission is to capture the essence of nature and translate it into works of art that inspire, evoke emotions, and deeply connect with you.
Each sculpture is a unique expression of strength, resilience, and beauty, designed to transform any space and enrich life with a deep connection to the natural environment.
I studied environmental science at university and, for years, I worked towards its preservation. Renewable energies, circular economy, and sustainable mobility have occupied my time and energy for many years. It was a tough fight that eventually wore me down until I realized that I needed a change in my life.
I realized I needed to stay connected to nature but to enjoy it. That was when I turned to art.
I spent years studying ceramics with a master whose lineage of ceramists dates back to the 17th century—a great teacher and even better person who helped me get to know myself.
Now, I dedicate myself exclusively to ceramics. I spend a few hours a week teaching classes and the rest of the time creating and building.
