Ekaterina Yermolaeva was born in 1994 in Russia, in city St. Petersburg, where I live to this day. Since 2001 i entered the Physics and Mathematics Gymnasium. In parallel with the secondary school I went to an art school, where I studied such subjects as: History of Art, Painting, Drawing, Sculpting, Basics of Composition. Passion for drawing came from childhood. Even in kindergarten, tutors and peer friends singled out my drawing abilities among other children. She studied at art school until 2009. In 2010, she completed her studies at the math gymnasium. Then, at the insistence of teachers of the art school, she entered the Art and Aesthetic Lyceum of the Academy of Arts. A.L. Stieglitz During her studies at the Lyceum, she became interested in painting with particular interest. Items for drawing and painting were among the most beloved ones. Often, academic studies teachers rated the highest score. During my studies at the Lyceum, I realized that I wanted to seriously engage in painting even after graduation. She graduated from high school in 2012. In the summer of 2012, i entered the university "Institute of Technology and Design". In the department of graphic design. At the university, the first 2 courses in addition to general subjects, the curriculum included such subjects as: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Art of collage. During my studies at the university, as well as at school, I paid special attention to painting. When the time came to choose the style of performance for a thesis project, I chose painting without thinking. My thesis work consisted of 3 paintings of 120 * 60 cm in size, these were still lifes painted in decorative style, made on paper with tempera. My thesis was rated the highest score. This work was the only painting among the students of my group. After graduating from the University, it was not easy to find a job in Graphic Design because I wanted to paint for most of the time. I was afraid of losing my skill as a good painter due to office work as a designer. Thus, for the first two years after university, I was mainly engaged in painting only. In the summer and early autumn I went in the open air to the park, botanical garden, on the Gulf of Finland. At this moment I especially liked to write the state of nature, it was a period when I was fascinated by landscapes. I was greatly impressed by the paintings of the famous Russian artist I.I. Levitan.Soon I found a job as a graphic designer and could work in freelance format. This made life much easier, and so I was able to paint and design without leaving the studio and spend enough time on painting. In addition to landscapes, I began to be interested in all sorts of random compositions from different household items or furniture, as well as the ancient interiors of the rooms and houses where I found myself. In 2016, I start experimenting with the subject and composition of my paintings. My palette is also changing. During this period, such artists as Eduar Vuillard, Joaquin Sorolla, Toulouse Lautrec, Bernie Fuchs and others make a great impression on me.To this day, I continue to persevere in painting in my workshop, to find new techniques and scenes for paintings. She took part in exhibitions of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. More and more people are becoming interested in my work, as well as buying some of them.Participation in exhibitions:2015 - Young Artists of Saint-Petersburg (Union of Artists)2016 - Young Artists of Saint-Petersburg (Union of Artists)2017 - "Tkachi" Annual exhibition 2017 - Annual Spring exhibition (Saint-Petersburg)2018 - Annual Autumn exhibition (Saint-Petersburg)
